As New Year’s Eve rapidly approaches, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is already celebrating, with the news that Channel Islands based C.I. Travel Group has announced the launch of a new service from Liverpool to Guernsey for Summer 2016.
The service, which is subject to licence approval, will operate every Saturday between June 4th and September 10th 2016, using a 46 seat ATR-42 aircraft chartered from Channel Islands carrier Blue Islands.
This will be the first time in over 20 years that Liverpool will be served by a direct link with the island, which lies just off the coast of Normandy.
The route will be sold exclusively by C.I. Travel Group’s well-established consumer brands that include Airways Holidays and GuernseyTravel.com. It will also be used by Guernsey hoteliers who wish to offer their own clients from the Liverpool area a direct flight to the island.

Travel Group has always had a strong presence in the north-west of England but it has been over 20 years since visitors were able to travel directly to Guernsey from Liverpool. We believe that this new opportunity to visit the Bailiwick for a holiday and fly direct from Liverpool will prove very popular.”
