This Wednesday, 20th May, sees the 2015 inaugural direct flight from Jersey to Palma in Majorca by FlyDirect, part of the Channel Islands-based C.I. Travel Group.
For the second year running the company is working with Spanish airline, Volotea. Their Boeing 717 jets proved very popular with customers in 2014, providing a fast and comfortable connection with the Mediterranean.
The summer programme of flights will commence, as the company reports a record year of demand for direct flights, led by the introduction of flights to Tenerife in the spring of this year.
"In 2015 we expect over 3000 islanders to take advantage of a direct flight to the Spanish sun", commented Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of C. I. Travel Group. "Faced with the choice of a 2 hour direct flight from Jersey to Majorca or a full day travelling via the UK, islanders are increasingly opting for the stress-free option of flying direct."
