The winners of the second C. I. Travel Group Hotel Awards have been announced, with the Radisson Blu Hotel and the Sunnydene Country Hotel winning the overall awards in Jersey and Guernsey respectively. The Radisson Blu also won the 5 & 4 Star Category in Jersey, with the Sunnydene winning the 3 & 2 Star Category in Guernsey.

2016 C. I. Travel Group Hotel AwardsNow in its second year, the awards scheme recognises excellence and professionalism in the Channel Islands’ tourism and hospitality sector, and reflects C. I. Travel Group's commitment to delivering the highest standards of customer service. The awards are run in association with the online feedback platform Feefo, with whom C. I. Travel Group has worked for a number of years.

The awards have again been decided using an aggregate score based on genuine customer reviews received through Feefo’s innovative system and on hotels’ room count. Shortlisted and winning hotels can therefore be safe in the knowledge that they have been selected by authentic feedback, and that the wide range of hotel sizes in the Channel Islands has been taken into account.

Properties in Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey have been chosen in two categories: 5 & 4 star hotels and 3 & 2 star hotels. Joining the two overall winners were the Monterey Hotel, winning the 3 & 2 Star Category in Jersey, and the Old Government House Hotel & Spa, winning the 5 & 4 Star Category in Guernsey. The extremely positive customer comments received across all grades of hotels reflect the assertion that service is of paramount importance to the islands’ visitors, even more so than price, value or luxury.

“In the second year of the C. I. Travel Group Hotel awards, we are delighted once again to recognise and celebrate service excellence in the hospitality sector in the Channel Islands,” commented Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of C. I. Travel Group. “Overall accommodation satisfaction ratings amongst our clients stands at well over 90% in both Bailiwicks; for these winning hotels it is a real recognition of the standards of customer service they provide. We congratulate both the winners and all those hotels which were short-listed.”

Mike Hopkins, Director of Marketing & Tourism at Visit Guernsey said: “We are delighted to hear the results of the C. I. Travel Group Hotel Awards. We are very proud of the quality and variety of Guernsey’s accommodation. These awards, which feature results taken from the review system Feefo, reflect this quality and variety. We strive to ensure the standard of our accommodation not only meets but also exceeds our many visitors’ expectations and these, the only independent hotel awards for the Channel Islands, truly mirrors this.”

Commenting on the awards, Keith Beecham, CEO of Visit Jersey said: “Visit Jersey is delighted to endorse the 2016 C. I. Travel Group Hotel Awards that recognise hotel excellence and champions customer services in the Channel Islands. Where a visitor stays is a core part of the overall visitor experience and hotels help to create a sense of place. Tourism is a global industry and we are delighted to be associated with identifying the very best of the Channel Islands’ accommodation sites as recognised by real visitors.”
