“FlyDirect

Following three successful winter seasons of operating direct flights to Tenerife from Jersey, Channel Islands-based FlyDirect start their 2018 Winter Sun service on 2nd February, offering a weekly service direct to Tenerife South through until the 6th April.

This year FlyDirect are partnering with German airline Germania, departing each Friday morning. Clients will enjoy a comfortable flight aboard one of Germania’s 150 seat A319 jet aircraft, travelling from the Channel Islands to the Canary Islands in approximately four hours, meaning clients can breakfast in Jersey and arrive in time for lunch. Germania have a service guarantee and their in-flight experience includes an in-flight entertainment system, complimentary on board snack and the option to upgrade to premium seating ensuring a pleasurable and stress-free travel experience.

Tenerife remains a popular destination with British holidaymakers, with the year round warm climate attracting over 2 million visitors each year. In addition to a flight only option, FlyDirect offer a choice of hotels and apartments in the popular resorts of Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje on the south west coast, in easy reach of Reina Sofia Airport and the major attractions of this winter sun destination.

Following the launch of their Barcelona direct city break package 3 years ago which has been a sell out every year, FlyDirect are increasing this to 2 departures in 2018; one 3 night package in September and one in October. Additionally, the local company are developing their city break programme and for 2018 they are jetting islanders to Madrid offering even more choice for a direct getaway. They currently have on sale one 3 night break to Madrid in May with a 4 night break, subject to demand, in November.

Ensuring Islanders stay safe in the sun, FlyDirect will continue to support local charity the Donna Annand Melonoma Charity in the prevention of skin cancer through education to their passengers and by providing UV detecting wristbands in their children’s packs. In 2017 the company raised £680 for the charity.

“We are excited to begin another year of direct holidays from the Channel Islands to Tenerife, and particularly to be working with the well reputed and respected airline Germania." said said Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of C. I. Travel Group. “Demand for our previous winter sun flights has exceeded expectations, with over 3,200 Islanders already experiencing stress-free travel to the Canaries as the demand for direct travel continues. In 2018 we have capacity to carry a further 1,500 passengers across 10 departures"
