Airways Holidays offers new film experience for Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society release
Airways Holidays has created a package that will coincide with the release of The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society on 19th April 2018. This package will allow fans to discover the places in Guernsey that were the setting for the struggles and the friendships of the characters from this internationally-loved story by Mary Ann Schaffer.
The film, which is directed by the renowned Mike Newell, stars Lily James and Michiel Huisman and follows the story of a free-spirited journalist who forms a life-changing bond with the eccentric Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society; a book club that united islanders through literature during the German occupation of the island.
The package includes a minimum 3 night stay with accommodation and board basis of the client’s choice along with a half day tour covering the main places that feature in the book as well as a 2 days island-wide bus pass to enjoy the island at their leisure and experience the post-war Guernsey of today. The book, published in 2008, took the number one position on the New York Times Best Seller List for paperback fiction on 2nd August 2009. Filming began in March 2017 and its highly anticipated release in April 2018 will see the film screened in cinemas across the UK.
